BenjaminIntroduce yourself

My name is Benjamin. I have been working at Secure-IC for more than 2 years now and I am located in our office based in Singapore, in charge of the sales activity for South-East Asia (SEA) and Taiwan. I have both a business & Chinese background as I studied at universities in France and China and started my career working in purchasing, handling negotiations, tenders, etc. for indirect categories. I pursued these procurement responsibilities in Vietnam before moving to the world of sales when I came back to China to help setup the office of a French consulting firm. Ultimately, I joined Secure-IC in France, at our headquarters in Rennes before moving to Singapore to join our local SEA team.

What are the missions of your team at Secure-IC?

Our main mission is to increase the company’s revenue by closing deals and generating new sales opportunities with prospects and customers in South East Asia & Taiwan. Our goal is to achieve the sales targets by building trusted relationship with customers, understanding their security projects parameters, offering the most appropriate technical solutions to meet their needs and negotiating the terms of the contract to achieve a successful signing in line with all stakeholders.

What is the most challenging project you took part in?

It was an important award-wining project in Singapore! Indeed, we won the “Call for Innovation CS05” in 2020, for a project related to the development of a secure plug & play system for autonomous prime movers (APMs) in the Port of Singapore (PSA). This project had a strong potential for innovation in security both technically, since we had to develop a brand new solution, but also strategically because of its applicability to all APMs worldwide. The bidding process lasted two long semesters with intensive competition and multiple meetings with the client. With the help of our product marketing and technical teams, the customer was technically convinced by Secure-IC’s portfolio of state-of-the-art security technologies, we met the call for innovation and finally won this project which highly benefits the local ecosystem.

What’s next for you in Secure-IC?

My next step at Secure-IC would be to further participate in the company’s growth by opening a new branch overseas within our key Asian market, in order to get closer to some of our major customers in the semiconductor industry.

What is your best memory since you joined Secure-IC?

It was during a business trip to Taiwan, with our local partner and Secure-IC’s Product Marketing Manager. We had a great time fostering better relationships with our key local customers, meeting many customers during the day, debriefing the technical points discussed altogether in the cab back to the hotel and working on the on-going business at night. An intense business trip but a great memory!
